Elysse Cheadle

RMT

elysse

Elysse arrived at Massage Therapy after nearly a decade of work in theatre and the arts.

Her approach to massage therapy is holistic; her treatment plans are grounded in orthopedics, anatomy, and current research, while never losing sight of the simple power of attentive and present touch.

She is a firm believer that communication, collaboration, and consent are crucial for success in the therapeutic process.

Her treatment style and depth of pressure is adaptable to each individual, but she is particularly fond of working slowly, using relaxation massage as the framework upon which she adds more targeted therapeutic techniques.

Some of the conditions she has experience treating include:

  • headaches
  • depression and anxiety
  • fibromyalgia and chronic pain
  • strains, sprains, tendinopathies
  • nerve impingement syndromes (ex: sciatica, carpal tunnel, thoracic outlet syndrome)
  • sports injuries
  • whiplash associated disorders (WAD)
  • post-concussion syndrome
  • plantar fasciitis
  • temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJD)
  • generalized low back, neck, and/or shoulder pain

When she is not at the clinic, Elysse is working in- or supporting live theatre, She is a hiker, mid-distance runner, a year-round commuter-cyclist,
and a passionate amateur vegetable gardener.
Elysse has training in dance (contemporary, ballet), and has recently fallen in love with climbing. She has two dogs who accompany her daily on long walks.
